Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you’re working so hard you feel sleep deprived more often than you feel rested, or you’re working so hard that you forget to eat or you ignore important household chores, like paying your bills or doing laundry until you have nothing clean to wear, and for those of you with children, you are unable to make time for your children’s extra curricular or even their activities at home? These are all indications that you need to find a work life balance.
In this episode, PK encourages listeners to prioritize a change in how you balance your work obligations and lifestyle obligations to avoid putting your mental, physical and emotional selves in jeopardy.

Some Key Takeaways from this episode to achieve that delicate balance between being effective both at work and at home :

  1. Know when to say “enough.” in short, stop trying to do every task perfectly . Check out Episode 7 - 5 Ways to Deal with Honor Roll Hangover and Stop Aiming for Perfection
  2. Put exercise on your calendar with alerts to get it done. Check out Reason# 2 : Why Cupid Doesn’t want you to be Sidelined by Poor Physical Health
  3. Limit your interactions with social media
  4. Limit your exposure to people and things that waste your time

The bottom line is that without finding that work/life balance, you could end up with high levels of stress that impact your mental health leading to depression and anxiety and eventually burnout and that’s no way to lead your life.
