Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE) is a confronting TH2-dominant disorder mainly picked up in infancy and childhood but not uncommonly missed until adulthood. It's aetiology is unknown although it can occur with atopic conditions such as asthma.
EoE can present as vomiting or spitting food up in youngsters but may also present as hiccups or food impaction. It's noteworthy that Coeliac (Celiac) Disease and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome may be co-morbidities with EoE.
Nicole Hannan is an expert in EoE by necessity (her daughter has EoE) and is now completing her PhD in this area and today we learn all about the hallmarks, the prevalence, concomitant disorders, the treatments and the precautions of EoE.
Listen in to this full episode and an urgent call-out to both patients and practitioners in a short episode on EoE to further research into this condition.

While practitioners are urged to join the focus group if you have cared for a patient with EoE in the past 5 years (06.2017-06.2022).
