Added sugar causes a lot of health problems. I personally recognized the path I was heading down two years ago would soon lead to being diagnosed with pre-diabetes. So on May 19th, 2014, I quit. You can see what I looked like in the picture above. Like a lot of men, I was carrying extra weight around my mid section and my waist had grown to 36". Today and for the last year it has been 30". However, my initial goal when I started was to simply stop putting added sugar in my system. It was basic and I purposely did not add a bunch of bells or whistles to my plan. I honestly did not have a desired weight I wanted to reach or a specific number for my cholesterol. I just wanted to stop the cycle of unhealthy eating. While I did end up losing a lot of weight, and more importantly, significant body fat, I honestly had no idea just how much of an impact quitting added sugar would have on the rest of my life. I even ended up writing a book about the journey and how I believe others can succeed. That book is coming soon, but until then, here is an excerpt about the the top 5 surprising benefits of giving up added sugar.
