We have an incredible story to share on this episode. Adam Sud once weighed nearly 350lbs and his life was in a serious downward spiral. He was addicted to drugs and food, he was depressed, and he had multiple chronic illnesses including type 2 diabetes. After attempting suicide by drug overdose, he realized he needed to ask for help. He adopted a plant-based diet and this was the beginning of his recovery. After losing nearly 200lbs and getting off all of his medications, today Adam leads a life dedicated to inspiring and helping others.

In this episode we cover:

  • Adam’s childhood
  • Developing disordered eating and a diagnosis of ADHD
  • His drug and food addictions
  • The lowest point of his life
  • Being diagnosed with multiple chronic diseases
  • Beginning a plant-based diet
  • The biological reason we constantly seek pleasure
  • Reversing type 2 diabetes and losing almost 200lbs
  • The influence of diet on substance abuse recovery
  • How self love is at the root of recovery
  • Why the intervention model of recovery doesn’t work
