Divya Alter is an Ayurvedic chef, educator author and founder of the food brand Divya's. She owns a popular restaurant in NYC called Divya's Kitchen and was a former monk!

In this episode, Divya tells us what her relationship is to Ayurveda, what it was like to live in india and receive healthcare there, what it was like to live in an Ashram as a monk, what kind of food gets cooked in an Ashram, what cooking is like as a monk, how her relationship to cooking developed from there, what kitchen organization will bring to your cooking experience, and what she values most when considering what food to cook. Divya and I talk about our spiritual relationship with cooking and food, what Ayurveda is, what the Doshas are and how they relate to the Ayurvedic science, healing for the individual not the symptoms, some spiritual practices that we value most and utilize when cooking, and more!
