Interview with Author Russell Kramer on his podcast, Visitors at the Temple.
Russell Kramer, the new author of Hocus Focus: Coming of Age With ADD and Its Medicines, interviews me on his podcast, Visitors at the Temple, about my experiences with using Zoloft and withdrawal from it. I had the honor of writing the forward for his insightful and courageous book. In this podcast, we share intimate details about how the use of psychiatric medication influenced and changed us. Also, we reflect on life's unexpected turns and discuss our creative aspirations.
Generally, I don't like to open up and share intimate details about my experiences and perspectives. I was taught to be extremely private as part of my psychiatric training. But in this podcast, through Russell Kramer's questions and a cordial, relaxed setting, I reveal some of the toughest moments in my life. Times that I joke about as "my year-long near-death experience--without the light at the end of the tunnel." Times when my life disintegrated and needed reintegration for me to survive. Times that profoundly altered the trajectory and focus of my life--for my good.
