Joining from Southern California via zoom is Shavonne, the founder of Throttle & Thrive. Through sobriety and AA, Shavonne found peace, healing, and purpose, which led to the idea to create a facility to help our first responders and veterans with substance misuse with the hopes of changing their lives in the right direction.
The facility is located in a beautiful home in Palos Verdes Estates, Southern California. The home consists of a view overlooking the ocean, comfortable beds, and delicious/healthy meals.
Throttle & Thrive is a 30 day recovery program for medical detox, substance misuse, and addiction treatment. Shavonne breaks down the daily schedule which consists of physical fitness, group and individual therapy sessions, meditation/journal time, and more. Some insurances/departments may cover the cost of the treatment, but there are financial aid programs set in place.
If you're a male first responder and/or veteran (active or retired) and are misusing alcohol and/or other substances, you need to listen to this podcast and potentially get connected to Shavonne.
