Join me in welcoming back Dr.Zera of Compass Collective to the podcast to discuss "Building Community", The Reset, and so much more.
Bio:
Dr. Zera, who affectionately goes by her longtime moniker Zee, is the visionary founder behind Compass Collective Books - a small but mighty independent bookshop rooted in diverse, inclusive, and healing centered books + engagement. Zee has long held on to the profound belief in the power of books to connect, inspire, and transform lives. In the two years since the bookshop opened, she has built a community-driven safe space for readers and book enthusiasts to come together and experience the empathy, support, care, and wisdom that books offer.

At the core of Compass Collective Books are three pillars: community, connection, and culture. Zee's commitment to representation is a driving force, ensuring that the shop's shelves reflect the diversity of voices and stories from around the world, particularly the African + Latin diasporas, LGBTQIA+ communities, and historically underrepresented peoples.

Prior to fully immersing herself into the world of books, Zera spent over a decade working as an Optometrist, providing eye care to underserved communities in St. Petersburg and Gainesville, Florida. She is also a Healing-Centered Engagement Practitioner, gaining certification in 2022
