In this episode, Richard Tubb speaks to Sarah Turner, a creative marketer at IT Backbone. They support cloud migration, infrastructure overhauls and build anything that their clients need.

A data lead decision-maker, she was part of the team that helped IT Backbone win the “Most Innovative Marketing and Sales Campaign” category of the MSP awards, hosted by SuperOps.

They talk about Sarah’s marketing background and how she ended up in the IT industry and the marketing strategy she submitted as their entry into the awards competition and how she made it stand out.

He asks Sarah for her advice on marketing campaigns in general – the tools to use, how to measure the success (or otherwise) of the campaign, and the best tools to use for data analysis.

Sarah also tells him what a customer-first approach looks like at IT Backbone, the challenges and successes of marketing in an IT company, and where MSPs go wrong with their approach to marketing.

They also discuss why MSPs should enter awards, the SuperOps awards process and what the win means for Sarah and IT Backbone. Finally, Richard asks Sarah what’s next for the business and what potential obstacles they need to overcome.
