Endometriosis, a chronic disease affecting nearly 10% of women and girls of menstrual age, involves the abnormal growth of cells resembling those in the uterine lining. These cells can develop in various areas of the pelvis, such as the bowel, bladder, and ovaries, and in rare cases, even in other organs throughout the body. While the exact cause remains elusive, several contributing factors are linked to endometriosis, including a family history of the disease. Research indicates that individuals with such a family history have a risk factor up to 10 times higher than the general population.

Today we invited Margaret Scott onto the podcast. Margaret is a Naturopath and her expertise lies in reproductive and hormonal health. Her journey into naturopathy was sparked by her personal health experiences, which emphasised the significance of addressing the root causes of health conditions through holistic and evidence-based approaches. Margaret is particularly enthusiastic about assisting individuals with conditions such as Endometriosis, PCOS, Acne, irregular and painful periods, gut problems including SIBO, IBS, IBD, and microbiome imbalances, as well as perimenopause/menopause and mood disorders.
