Melissa West has been practicing yoga since 1996 and teaching it since 2002. She started teaching yoga on YouTube in 2009. She was awarded a Ph.D. in communications and cultural studies and taught in a University setting for over ten years. This means Melissa can take complex topics and communicate them simply. Her training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy provided a holistic and integrative approach to yoga therapy, bridging the gap between yoga and talk-therapy. Most of all, Melissa brings skill and compassion to supporting others in meeting themselves exactly as they are each day on their yoga mat. Her book 5 Element Yin Yoga: Practicing and Teaching in Harmony with the Seasons combines five element theory and yin yoga.
