Today's guest is Dan Heath, a NYT Bestselling Author of several great books and host of the podcast, What It's Like To Be. He interviews unlikely people, like stadium beer vendors, dog trainers, hairstylists, secret service agents, couples therapists and lots of folks that you might not normally hear on a podcast. His anecdotes about many of these interviews were both poignant and hilarious. Mostly, I love that he's giving us a perspective on different jobs or careers that we might not otherwise ever hear about and sharing the little secrets about how his unlikely guests find deep meaning in their work. Also, it was so clear that we're all different and what might appeal to one of us may not appeal to someone else. For example, we may judge the person who sells beer in a stadium, but they may judge us for sitting in an office all day.

So the goal is to each find what lights us up and respect that in each other, whether it be styling hair, or managing money. Different people find purpose in different things, and we find relationships in different places. Dan has learned to have a deep respect for the different choices and different paths we each take. It's really another way to look at empathy even how we think about curiosity versus judgment. It's a super fun interview with lots of great stories.
