Jamie Sketchley is a popular member of the Australian Trail Running Community and when not competing himself can often be seen volunteering and cheering at run events. On the 11th of July Jamie Sketchley will be running 105km solo around Lilydale lake to raise awareness for depression and anxiety. Jamie says "Depression is something that myself and many others suffer with everyday, often in silence and alone. By Speaking up and asking for help we can go a long way in breaking the stigma of mental health issues" Jamie is raising funds for the Black Dog Institute and is encouraging people to donate to a great cause or come down and run a few laps of support with him on July 11th to help break the stigma of mental health issues. You can access the donation page here. One in five Australians are affected by mental illness each year. Mental illness can be overwhelming, crippling and isolating.
