Mind Over Muscle: Overcoming Physical Limitations in Midlife with Kim Rahir
Manage episode 409711121 series 3565415
In this episode Kim Rahir shares her inspirational journey from battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to becoming a health coach for middle aged women, with a focus on reactivating and rebuilding muscle. She is also a competition weightlifter and, at the age of 60, became the European Champion in Masters Weightlifting in her age and weight category.
Our conversation centres around empowerment through advocacy for one’s health, through resistance training, through mindful eating, and with a deep appreciation for one’s ability to overcome obstacles.
Kim emphasizes the importance of embracing strength training, proper nutrition, and mindset transformation for midlife women. Kim also underscores the concept of 'feeling stronger' rather than 'looking a certain way'. In this episode you will also hear her client success stories, as well as her own and what significant transformative event led her to drop the medication and pick up the barbell.
In this episode we talk about the effectiveness of Time Restricted Eating a very effective way to allow the digestive system to rest and to control weight. There is plenty of great information on TRE. Check out my blog for more.
