Our Forever First Lady Michelle Obama recently shared that she is dealing with a mild depression due to the state of of World today, and she is definitely not the only one who's feeling this way. With COVID -19 disproportionately affecting the Black Community, racial violence and injustice, community violence, and the everyday stressors that Black people face, Depression is on the rise in the Black Community. We have a long history of going untreated and undiagnosed for Depression in the Black Community, and it has had a devastating effect on our health and our families.
In this episode, I breakdown everything you need to know about Depression in the Black Community. What is it? What causes it? What does Depression look like in Black people?Why are the effects of Depression different for Black people? We are going to talk about it all! And I’m going to give you tips on how to cope.
