This week I get the chance to sit down and discuss the voyage of a strength coach with Robb Hornett. After a run-down of how he got to St. Louis we get into what the lessons were in his stop. Each one bringing him a unique point of view and new perspective to help drive him forward. We then talk about the timing of training throughout the week in season, and how setting the schedule more for recovery than for performance has changed his programming. This leads him into a discussion on controlling what you can, and making sure that you are doing the best with what you’re able to control, to be even better for your athletes. We finish off talking about the return to sport after the lay off and some lessons that were taken from this time away, and where our two teams are at the present moment in our preparation and how ready we both are for games to start.
