You were 100% right…there's nothing you could have done differently, it's all on them….right! Right?

Did you check the game tape? That means review what happened with someone on your team and see all the moves that happened from different angles, different speeds, maybe even going frame by frame to see your part fully.

I just did this with my therapist to break down a text exchange with my father that ended with us (again) deciding to not talk to each other anymore. Before we did the game tape, I was sure that I had done everything I could and that only my dad is that one who had room to change (he hates that I talk about this by the way, but I've learned that shame = stress, and stress leads to death, and I want to live).

After we broke down what I said, what he said, how I felt, how I believe he felt, I can see that neither of us was wrong from our perspectives. Yet, I now see where I could have been a bit more relaxed and a bit more skilled. So there is still room for me to change, and we know from math that when one part of the equation changes, you get an entirely new result.

What's a recent thing that happened in your life that you could run Game Tape on? Do you know who you'd watch it with?
