In this episode, Mark & Annette have an open, vulnerable conversation with Julie Cluff. Julie has a story that honestly none of us want to own. As you listen to this episode, you will realize that you have the power within to build a beautiful life after loss.
In 2007 Julie's two youngest children died in a car accident – her daughter Carrie was ten, and her son David was 8. Julie describes the first three years as absolute hell. She felt so fragile, and she knew that nothing in her life would ever be the same.
She worked with a therapist to overcome my PTSD – caused by driving the car that rolled over and changed their lives forever. She fought every day to get up in the morning and try to make sense of her new reality. One of the first things Julie learned was not to judge or let anything anyone said affect her which helped me move forward in relationships...
On the 3rd anniversary almost to the day, things changed. Julie started to feel more like she could cope. Her therapist proclaimed her DONE. She did not feel done. Yes, Julie was better but she didn't know where to start to truly rebuild my life.

Julie realized that she had already experienced the worst thing that could happen, which created a weird mix of fear and courage inside her. Julie began building new experiences and creating a new identity. It was a relief when her friends and family could finally perceive her beyond the tragedy.

In 2012 Julie had a profound experience that sent her on a search for even more answers. Julie knew she was being directed to help others who had experienced an overwhelming loss like I had, but how do I do that?

Then one day, while listening to Brooke Castillo's podcast from The Life Coach School, Julie had an aha moment. She knew exactly what she meant when she described her lost feelings after therapy. And she explained that therapy looks back to work on diagnosed mental issues whereas coaching looks forward to inspire and create a life of goals and dreams.
