“Nobody understands everything I do around here!" Does this statement sound familiar? The invisible work, often going on inside our heads, is unrelenting and never-ending. Today, we get honest about the mental load and explore where it came from and how in the heck we got here.

Listen to learn more about:

  • What the mental load (also called "invisible labor") is.
  • What falls into the category of mental load.
  • How and perhaps why, the mental load seems to fall more on women than men.
  • The role of over and under functioner within our marriages, and how this contributes to the mental load.
  • Assigning tasks vs. responsibilities.
  • How to create a "minimum standard of care" through taking ownership AND collaboration with your partner.

Jessica talks about a seemingly random pet peeve that she has, and Andrea talks about having to repair it with her children after a heavy mental load-baring day.
