Episode 26

Chantal Traub is an active birth doula and childbirth educator who has assisted birthing families in New York City for 21 yrs. Her experience in those areas as well as her work as a yoga teacher, integrative women’s health coach, and postpartum recovery specialist has given her a deep understanding of the challenges birthing people currently face. Some of her insights might surprise you!

Listen to this episode to learn:

  • What Chantal recommends to help you prepare for your birth

  • Why safety, support, and protection are essential for childbirth and what you can do to ensure that you feel confident about these areas for your labor

  • Why being ‘strong’ isn’t the only thing to focus on when preparing for labor

  • What can trip us up during childbirth (it’s not what you think!)

  • What types of movement will help you prepare for childbirth

  • What exercises and activities Chantal and Amanda discourage their clients and patients from doing during pregnancy

  • How to shorten the second stage of labor and protect the perineum

  • What Chantal encourages all birthing people to ask to do just as the baby crowns

We hope this conversation will be eye-opening and give lots of helpful information!
