It is no secret that effective cancer treatments can be hard on the body. In this episode, my guest and I address the myth that treatment is over after the last round of chemo or radiation. There are evidence-based Integrative medicine approaches that can be used to address symptoms from conventional care and to lower the risk of recurrence.

Dr. Amy Rothenberg has practiced naturopathic medicine since 1986. She was the longtime medical editor for the Institute of Natural Medicine. When diagnosed with cancer in 2014, Dr. Rothenberg sought care at a renowned teaching hospital and had naturopathic doctors who specialize in integrative oncology on her medical dream team. Her book, You Finished Treatment, Now What? A Field Guide for Cancer Survivors is a roadmap for lifestyle and natural medicine to address health challenges that persist after care, and to reduce the risk of recurrence. Dr. Rothenberg is the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, 2017 Physician of the Year.
