Gather your thoughts,

And go into yourself.

Visualize breathing in energy

For whole-body health.

PAUSE

Now, take a minute

And imagine your day.

All you want to accomplish

Without a delay.

PAUSE

And, as you see

All that you’ve planned,

Ask yourself,

“Are these choices

Or more like demands?”

PAUSE

And, if they feel like demands,

That you’re putting on your shoulders,

It’s like you’re in a war,

And you are the soldier.

PAUSE

Every day has its obligations,

We all know that to be true.

But there also needs to be space,

In order to care for you.

PAUSE

So, yank off the combat boots,

And prop up your feet.

You’ve earned a reward,

Some time to retreat.

PAUSE

So, imagine a spa day

With massages and facials.

Let yourself feel the relaxation,

As much as you're able.

PAUSE

Now, take a few moments,

To just breathe in peace.

Let your body keep relaxing,

And experiencing relief.

PAUSE

Stay in the place

For just a few minutes,

Or longer, if you choose,

There are no limits.

PAUSE

Now, going forward,

When you plan your days,

Make sure you pencil in

Some personal space.

PAUSE

So, remember…

If days are only obligations,

There may be some resentment.

Add in some rest or enjoyment,

And there will be more contentment.
