Big disappointment often brings big emotions with it. Often these emotions do not feel very comfortable or good. They can feel painful, dark, and sad. I recently had an experience where something I had worked very hard for ended up bringing about a big disappointment.
My initial reactions were:

  • feelings of deep, bone-weary sadness
  • feelings anger and righteous indignation
  • feelings of "why am I not good enough for this person?"
  • feelings of embarrassment
  • feelings of worrying that I let my collaborators down
  • massive feelings of confusion & frustration

Theses are all very normal human feelings. And it is good to acknowledge those feelings and understand their origins. This episode explores the origin of those feelings and how we can take the next steps to moving through the disappointment. Every "hell no" has a "Heck Yes!" somewhere...where is that Heck Yes?
