Ep 34. When we recall we run the risk of reactivity to the nature of the memory. Is it euphoric and pleasant? Is is dysphoric and painful? These are the elements that often determine how close we hold our idea of self or ego in regards to the recollection. When we hold beliefs that have been assumed or accepted often there is a social component where we gain acceptance and social capital or value that we are often wont to let go of even in the face of evidence to support other that what we believe. But yet, we struggle with the change due to our investment in time, but also due to the pay off of getting love and acceptance that came with the assumption of the belief.
