Welcome to Episode 11 of The Selfish Podcast, a beginners guide to meditation. Meditation is a little bit of a buzz word at the moment but if you are anything like us when we started, you might be a tad confused. Where to start and how to actually do it. We dive into all this in the episode.

What is meditation:

“Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state.

In meditation, the mind is clear, relaxed, and inwardly focused. When you meditate, you are fully awake and alert, but your mind is not focused on the external world or on the events taking place around you.

Meditation requires an inner state that is still and one-pointed so that the mind becomes silent. When the mind is silent and no longer distracts you, meditation deepens.”

In this episode, we dive into

  • Our experience with meditation, where it started for us and how it supports our busy lives
  • Where you can meditate
  • How to meditate
  • How to ask questions during meditation
  • Useful apps for getting started

AND SO MUCH MORE!!
