05: How to Balance Attachment and Independence in Relationships
Manage episode 404961046 series 3548740
Today we're getting into the nitty-gritty of how our attachment styles—be it secure, anxious, avoidant, or even disorganized—shape the way we juggle needing others and standing on our own two feet in our relationships. We're talking about what it means to lean on someone just the right amount, how to spot when it's tipping into codependency, or when we're pulling away too much because of our attachment vibes. I've got some real-life stories to make sense of all this and to show why getting a handle on our attachment styles can seriously up our relationship game. We're also diving into this cool Theory called relational dialectics—think of it as the push and pull between wanting to be super close and needing our space. Plus, I'm here to cheer you on to explore your own attachment style and find ways to smooth out the ride in your relationships with a big dollop of openness, respect, and, you guessed it, honesty. Let's get to it!
