How Shame Destroys Giftedness
Manage episode 372132757 series 3457710
In this podcast, I discuss how shame can undermine the giftedness of neurodivergent individuals. Our entire system fosters a culture of shame, which drives capitalistic over consumption. The system is designed to instill shame in its citizens, encouraging comparison and competition instead of connection. For the most sensitive among us, this experience can be truly debilitating. To break this harmful trend, we must educate ourselves about shame and take action to stop it in its tracks. Our future hinges on our ability to nurture and support the sensitive individuals, as they are best equipped to address the rapid changes we face. Their creativity and ingenuity are essential in developing the innovative solutions we need to survive in a world where mother nature poses significant threats. We cannot afford to let another day pass without confronting shame and safeguarding the well-being of the most sensitive individuals.
