Meghan Tveit has returned to check in with us after spending 6 weeks in a psychiatry rotation. This conversation gets a bit tense as Meghan tells about some very extreme cases that she experienced during this rotation. No worries. No names or personal information have been shared, but I want you to know that Meghan does talk about one case in particular that is more disturbing than others. I am so glad that Meghan could share this with us, but I want you to be prepared, and you will not want children to be present when listening to this episode.
Meghan is a third year medical student at George Washington School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. A member of the 2020 graduating class of Harvard and my eldest son's girlfriend, Meghan appeared on my doorstep when the world shut down and then spent 6 weeks "bubbling" with my family during quarantine, during which time I developed a deep love for her bright, fun, compassionate, thoughtful, and curious approach to Pretty Much Everything. I know by now you are likely growing to love not only Meghan, but what she has to share about her journey on the path to becoming a doctor as well.
If you haven't seen the first three episodes of our Healer's Journey saga, you can review them later: they provide an intimate glimpse into the world of a Real, Live Medical Student, on her path to becoming a physician.
