Dr. Kara Fitzgerald | Younger You: Reverse Aging and Live Longer, Better
Manage episode 320544635 series 2906757
Nutritional science has long demonstrated that a diverse, plant-focused diet improves outcomes. Nutrition and other lifestyle factors dramatically affect how we age and the outcomes related to those factors – our healthspan. That starts in pregnancy at conception, even before, and then it follows us across our lifespan. But science had not yet determined how phytonutrients could modulate that change. Until now. Exciting new research suggests that DNA methylation is likely playing a pivotal role in epigenetics, possibly even as the key driver of our genome.
Dr. Kara Fitzgerald ND is the first ever recipient of the Emerging Leadership Award from the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute in recognition of her work on DNA methylation. As a leading voice in the intersection of nutrition, epigenetics and aging, Dr. Fitzgerald’s work has been featured in media outlets such as Prevention, Fast Company, MSN, Everyday Health, The Doctors TV and many more. She’s on faculty at the Institute for Functional Medicine and is an IFM certified practitioner in Connecticut.
Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s groundbreaking study is reshaping how we think about our future in health. And she’s here today so YOU can begin to understand what the data currently shows on how you can reduce your biological age and to chat about her new book Younger You: Reduce your Bio Age and Live Longer, Better.
