This week, Ali and Hannah are especially excited to sit down with Nicola Salmon, a leading voice for fat folks seeking fertility support. As an evidence based fertility coach and author of the groundbreaking book Fat and Fertile, Nicola brings a fresh, fat-positive perspective to her work. Nicola uses her platform to challenge weight stigma in the fertility world and empower plus-sized individuals to take control of their reproductive health with confidence. Nicola combines her expertise, background in science and personal experience of being pregnant in a fatphobic health care system to share a thought provoking story that you cannot miss! From self acceptance inspired by her first born, to tackling fatphobia head-on, and navigating the whirlwind of research on fatness and fertility, Nicola, Ali, and Hannah talk about it all and more! Do I need to lose weight to have a safe pregnancy? How effective are fertility treatments for larger bodied people? Am I really a high risk pregnancy if I have a higher BMI? Should I question my practitioner’s advice to lose weight before getting pregnant? If you are ready to be inspired and informed, sit back, press play and listen in as Nicola, Hannah and Ali talk all things fatness and fertility!
