ep-111-managing-anxiety-why-your-ssri-wont-cut-itChronic stress and anxiety present more than mental and emotional symptoms--they can also prompt physiological responses.Stress and anxiety have become a regular occurrence in everyday life. From financial woes to relationship angst, there are no shortage of stress triggers.
Unfortunately, chronic stress and anxiety becomes more than just a mental or emotional condition. It can have a number of physiological results, such as leaky gut, food sensitivities, bloating, and an upset microbiome. Your body is constantly in reactive mode, which disrupts multiple systemic functions.
Rather than turn to prescription remedies, Ali Miller, RD, LD, CDE, prefers to take a more holistic approach. She utilizes a six-step approach in order to restore balance:
  1. Remove inflammation
  2. Reset the microbiome
  3. Repair the gut lining
  4. Restore micronutrients
  5. Rebound the adrenals
  6. Rebalance neurotransmitters
Miller also uses a ketogenic strategy for managing chronic stress and anxiety, which helps balance blood sugar levels and grounds mood and mindset.
Listen as Miller joins Dr. Taz to discuss her expertise in this area, as well as share highlights from her newest book, The Anti-Anxiety Diet: A Whole Body Program to Stop Racing Thoughts, Banish Worry and Live Panic-Free.
