I want to start by wishing you the joy of a bright new year that is available to us if we are willing to be mindful. Those of you who have been following along with the experiences of the last few newsletters should know how to do that pretty well by now. If you are not part of Healing Times eNewsletter, join here. You can review those past issues at these links:

  1. With the Spring Healing Times Returns
  2. The Infinite Power of Your Imagination
  3. Mindfulness and Your Mind

This year my experience is tempered by the sobering news of the passing of my old friend and fellow workshop leader, Ram Dass (formerly Richard Alpert), the first person I’ve ever known who discovered his spiritual path through experimentation with LSD. His fellow Harvard professor, Timothy Leary, went on to create lively fodder for both the tabloids as well as the more staid dailies with his “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out” prescriptions; while Alpert was led to travel to India where he found a spiritual teacher who transformed his view of the world to one of love of a higher power and to a life of service.

Come with me on a trip down Memory Lane to revisit some of my personal experiences with this remarkable man: Remembrances of a Dear Friend, Ram Dass

And watch this compilation of my favorite Ram Das Teachings:

Dearest Ram Dass, your words and our friendship will live within me forever.
