Having credit makes life so much easier. You are given the ability to get something - an item or service - now and pay for it later. The marketing tactics employed by many companies are designed to get you to buy regardless of your ability to repay the money or not. Credit card offers are sent via email and snail mail daily. They make you feel special and entitled to the things you want even though you cannot pay for them.

The government encourages citizens to spend money in order to keep the economy afloat. During the pandemic, they even provided families with spending money so they could “do their part” in bolstering the economy. During the holidays, Black Friday sales are advertised as if they are there to help the consumer when in fact, it is the most efficient way to get rid of older model items as well as makeup for missed sales during the other eleven months of the year. It feels great to give gifts, but when the January credit card bills come around, people get a “holiday hangover” and start to worry about how to pay the bills.

Maybe you were in a situation similar to my guest. She was interested in replacing her care after an accident, but her credit wouldn’t allow it. They, her and her husband, needed their daughter to cosign for the loan. As you can imagine, it was quite embarrassing.

Jennifer Rickard is a mortgage loan officer, an author, and a ghostwriter. That brush with bad credit was all it took to light a fire under her. She and her husband Kevin started studying the best ways to improve credit scores for themselves and their clients.

Before starting creditbotox.com, Jennifer put her theories to the test. She helped people for free. She wanted proof that her methods weren’t a fluke. As a loan officer, she had to turn people away from their dream homes because their credit wasn’t up to par. Serving people comes naturally to Jennifer. She has always been in a service-based industry, this is just the next natural step. Now, she’s developed several different programs to help people reach their financial goals.

    Consequences of Having Bad Credit
    • Higher insurance premiums
    • Difficult time getting a job and/or security clearance
    • May have to pay more for purchases
    • May have to secure credit cards with cash

Biggest Benefits of Having Good Credit
  • Approval for cell service or utilities without a security deposit.
  • Better interest rates on credit cards and/or loans
  • May be approved for a higher credit line
  • Better choice of neighborhoods and houses

Side effects of Bad Credit on Your Mental Wellness
  • Shame - people won’t share their financial situation with family or friends. They continuously buy things to keep up appearances only to make the situation worse.
  • Fatigue - people with extreme money troubles aren’t able to get the required amount of sleep. Some of them spend that time working overtime at their job or if OT isn’t available, they’ve taken on a second job. The feelings of anxiousness may also just cause the person to lay awake at night.
  • Lower self-esteem - people attach the balance in their bank accounts or the limit on their credit cards to their self-esteem. Debt can cause people to feel uneasy and unprotected because if there was an emergency, there is nothing they can do financially.

For right now, full Credit Botox service is only available in the state of Florida. You can still visit the site and get a complimentary consultation to find out where you should start. Make sure you follow Jennifer Rickard on socials and let her know you heard about her on the Authentic Wellness Podcast.
