I hate New Year's Resolutions. If it was that important for you to make changes in your life you would have made them already. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% behind you changing habits or things in your life that your heart knows needs to be altered. The problem with changing habits is how we approach the process. We create pass or fail scenarios that are unrealistic. I will never, ever do "X" again. Then you do "X" and you throw the entire goal out the window. If it is a pass or fail goal you inevitably will either pass and quit or fail and quit. Either way, you will return back to your previous habit as a form of celebration or defeat. "I will never break another club over my knee after a bad shot!" Is this really a habit or is it the action that follows a bigger bad habit? The habit is overreacting or reacting inappropriately in the presence of stress. A more effective approach to this issue is to change the type of person you see yourself to be. Say to yourself, "I am the type of person that stays calm in the face of adversity!" Then work on the skills needed to stay calm in the face of adversity. As a by-product you will resist breaking your club over your knee. That is no longer the person you see yourself to be. Want to lose 15 lbs in 2023? Don't get out the scale. Get out a piece of paper and write down the habits and routines of someone who weighs 15 lbs less. Then incorporate their habits into your life. As a byproduct, you will lose 20! Want to make more money, get more followers, and meet the partner of your dreams? What does someone that possesses those things act like, work like and what did they sacrifice to get it? Want a DEEEEEP dive into changing your habits, routines and building your DreamBIG? Get your copy of my new book DreamBIG OverDeliver BeUndeniable here: https://www.jasonglasslab.com/dreambig-the-book Thank you to our sponsors. @mytpi @perform_better Come visit me at the myTPI Booth at the 2023 PGA Show in Orlando Jan 26-27, 2023: http://www.mytpi.com Want to buy some equipment?
