Dr. Berg discussed what foods to eat to break a prolonged fast. Refeeding syndrome is where you consume too much food after prolonged fast, it will have a shift of electrolytes and depletion of minerals in the plasma or blood that could cause all sorts of problems. Make sure that every time you do a prolonged fast, gradually introduce food especially if you already have nutritional deficiencies without even knowing it. There are a lot of benefits on doing prolonged fasting but you have to know how to do it correctly and make sure that you are consuming enough sea salt and electrolytes.
