The effort to avoid being a disappointment is what sets you up for becoming a disappointment. Either to yourself or someone you care about. On this episode I'll be talking about the antidote to creating disappointment: vulnerability.

When you accept yourself fully, your strengths, weaknesses, desires, fears, all of your wonderful you and then express that openly then the path to disappointment disappears. Just about anything that could be seen as a fault can also be seen as a strength and vice versa.

Does that mean that your weaknesses and fears should be left as is? No, but that doesn't mean that they need to be hidden or fixed immediately. When they known and shared then that allows everyone in your life to work with them without false expectation.

I've seen this in my own life and with my clients, where trying to be everything to everyone results in exhaustion at best and can result in destructive and harmful behaviors at worst. When you realize you're just a human and let other humans know that softens and eases and delights instead of disappoints.
