Join Colleen Sloan and Registered Dietitian Patricia Skolnik, as we unravel the mysteries of reflux, its triggers, and effective strategies to manage it. It is no longer appropriate to give your patient a list of 10-15 different foods they must avoid to manage their reflux. So how can we offer relief to our patients?
In today's episode, you'll not only have a clear understanding of general foods that MIGHT trigger or relieve reflux, but we also discuss the importance of using a symptom tracker, because not everyone needs to avoid the same foods. And I think you're really going to enjoy some surprising lifestyle changes that you can suggest your patients implement. And you are really in for a treat today because we'll teach you a powerful exercise for stress relief that only takes 16 seconds. We'll also debunk some old wives tales regarding milk and its use in the treatment of reflux. You'll learn some red flags that should alert you to think of alternate diagnoses that you cannot miss. And make sure you stick around to the end for my Nutrition Notes segment, because I'm teaching you three strategies to prevent you from jumping to the diagnosis.
So, get comfy, listen in, and let's make our patients healthier, one exam room at a time.
