"I'm Going In" is a transformative podcast hosted by Todd Blyleven, a former professional baseball player, TEDx Speaker, and heroic survivor of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting. This powerful show delves into the depths of trauma, offering a platform for individuals to share stories of adversity, resilience, and triumph. Todd, who overcame extreme trauma and PTSD, recounts his own journey, from declaring "I'm going in" to therapy and church, to daily self-improvement. By showcasing guests who've faced similar struggles, the podcast empowers listeners to understand their trauma, declare their own transformative moments, and embark on a path of healing and self-discovery. Join Todd and his guests as they inspire and uplift with tales of strength, courage, and the life-changing decision to say, "I'm Going In."
Bernie Meehan, the inaugural guest on "I'm Going In," epitomizes resilience and commitment. A seasoned EMT since age 16, Bernie became one of Connecticut's youngest paramedics at 21. Rising through the ranks, he now serves as Deputy Fire Chief, renowned in Western Connecticut for fearlessly leading responses to challenging incidents. Unfazed by chaos, Bernie finds comfort in adversity, a quality underscored by his impactful roles at the L'Ambiance Plaza collapse in 1987 and the Sandy Hook School tragedy in 2012. Beyond countless emergency responses, Bernie co-founded the Connecticut CISD team, responding to over 400 mental health incidents, including 40 line-of-duty deaths. Still actively serving, Bernie embodies the spirit of "I'm Going In," sharing his story of strength, leadership, and resilience.
