MASTERS OF CHANGE 15 * 20 OCTOBER 2018

Kent worked in Finance for many years, he used to try get his fellow workers to run at lunch time and also spent a lot of his time as a volunteer Youth Development Coach with the Sturt Junior Football Club.

There was a fitness coach inside him wanting to break free, and when a redundancy package was dangled in front of him, he nervously accepted it.

He started by studying his Level 1 & 2 in Strength & Conditioning and also doing the Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness, enabling him to initially work as a Personal trainer even though that was not his goal.

With further studies, a Sport & Exercise degree, he then gained the experience and cudos he needed to earn respect in this field and began to collect more steady and involved work.

We talk about his pathway and the challenges he faced, including some self doubt and possibly mild depression about being retrenched and struggling to secure full time employment.

Kent has also completed 24 ironman triathlons, including Hawaii, showing his work ethic and level of determination.

At 52 years of age, hes still learning and only recently achieved a PB in the ironman.

We talk about all facets of the day of a Strength & Conditioning Coach and the character and personality traits required in order to succeed in this field.

He now leads a very different lifestyle to that of a 9 to 5 banker, a lifestyle that is much more in tune with who he was meant to be. Kent is a true Master of Change.
