The Revolutionary Sistas of the Diaspora are Black and Brown Sistas coming together to discuss topical issues of race, social & economic justice, gender equality and everything in between. Our dads have a special place in our hearts, and a pivotal role in our homes. Last month we honored moms, so this month we wanted to focus on the most important male relationship in a woman’s life –her father. In the best case, he models the love that a woman needs in her life. But when that bond is broken or missing, it creates a void in the family – for daughters and sons alike. Men sometimes get a bad rap in communities of color. But there are many, many brothers who do all the right things for their families, and we want to honor them. Are you a father? We want to hear from you! What are the joys and challenges in being a dad? Whether you are a woman or man, join the conversation about fatherhood.
