Part 4) Important Facts About Nutritional Guidelines For A New Mom?

In this episode of Oh My Heath ... There's HOPE! Jana talks with Elena Biedert.

Elena Biedert is a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist, postpartum training specialist, bikini athlete, book author, and internationally published writer: juggling all while working at a renowned tech company and being a mom. The traumatic birth of her son in 2017 was the motivation to start her own business, "Mama Fitness Coaching". With her individualized coaching, she helps other new moms build a body even leaner and stronger than before pregnancy so that they can look good and feel strong enough to keep up with their kids, without sacrificing family time.

“It seems that so many things about the postpartum period are so confusing to many, just because everyone from your friend, mom, neighbor, online blogs, etc. has their own opinion or experience, which can contradict each other. Nutrition postpartum, especially when you breastfeed, is one of those things. However, there are actual evidence-based guidelines on dietary intake for a new mom, ensuring that the mom and her baby get all the nutrients they need.”

This 30-minute episode is on:

  1. Are there any recommendations or nutritional guidelines for a new mom?

  2. Are there any foods a mom cannot eat if she breastfeeds?

  3. In nutrition, what are the differences between a mom who breastfeed and a mom who doesn’t?

  4. Is it possible to lose weight and excess baby pounds while you breastfeed?

  5. What advice would you give to a mom who wants to look and feel better, maybe to lose a few pounds, but is just exhausted by all her tasks and daily routine?
