In the 1973 May-June issue of OCEANS magazine, Fred Hoctor wrote an article titled Mazatlan: From freebooters to friendly hosts where the Sea of Cortez begins. In this article about a coastal town in Mexico, he compares Polynesian Paralysis to the Mexican experience of "manana".
