This episode is all about mental health in the workpace. relationships with others and oneself. Amy Smith, the heart and soul behind Kindred; Consulting with Purpose. Kindred is all about equipping leaders with the tools they need to create trauma-informed, mentally healthy workplaces. Amy worked for about 9 years with not-for-profits as a social worker, working with people seeking aslyum, refugees and in suicide prevention and mental health before starting her own business. Kindred began because Amy was frustrated at the disconnect between the trauma-informed care frontline workers were expected to provide to others, and the tangible support offered to those very same staff daily. Amy reasons with me about how, in any organisation that involves humans it is imperative to have an emotionally safe trauma-informed environment.
