Jeremy Low - Intense Christianity led to Intense Depression

Divorced: Christianity and Navigators

CW: SUICIDAL IDEATION in the last half of show

Jeremy Low began his search for friendship and purpose during his polytechnic days, and eventually found himself deeply committed to the Navigators, a Christian campus ministry run by a fundamentalist missionary from Korea.

Over the next ten years, Jeremy immersed himself in the mission of discipleship, convinced it was the highest calling. When he grappled with depression and was ostracized for his inability to maintain his spiritual commitment, Jeremy embarked on a journey of deconstructing harmful religious beliefs. Emerging from this experience, Jeremy now has empathy for young people navigating mental health and religious issues and seeks to counsel others in this space.
