J.Nicole sits down with childhood friend, Dawon Funches to discuss the grief of losing his youngest brother amongst other family members. He found his grandmother deceased in her home when he was only in the 5th grade. How does one begin to cope with this amount of loss? Grief is not talked about in the black and brown communities especially. This powerful conversation was packed with honest conversation around what happens to families when we are coping with death of loved ones. How we can cope with alcohol and other substances when we are trying to heal our pain. We discussed the importance of seeking therapy or finding someone to talk to about the pain you are experiencing.
