So often, life gets in the way of our goals and before we know it, we haven’t achieved anything - but with careful planning, that doesn’t have to be the case. How can we plan our future more effectively and how can we stop feeling overwhelmed by big goals? If we’re aiming to get our families to be more active, how should we be approaching this goal? On this episode, author, podcast host and fitness coach, Josiah Novak, shares how to plan more effectively for the years ahead.

You have to be willing to accept that everyone has flaws, and not sit in a state of mind where you can’t move forward. -Josiah Novak

Three Takeaways

Plan proactively. A lot of us miss out on reaching our goals because life gets in the way and we lose focus. The best way to combat this is by planning proactively and putting in the work to reach our goals now, before anything can distract us.

With any goals (whether fitness, finance or family related), tackle them in small, manageable steps. Set goal checkpoints throughout the year to monitor progress.

If our goal is to get our families to be more active, we have to do it the right way. That means not forcing anything on them. Instead, set time aside to be active together where everyone feels supported.

At the start of this episode, we spoke about the importance of forgiveness. After discussing our shared experiences of physical and emotional abuse, we explained why it’s vital to let go of the past if we want to move forward.

We also discussed:

  • Why we need to take accountability for every aspect of our lives
  • The importance of treating others as we’d like to be treated
  • That all the answers we need are within; we just have to get to a higher vibration to hear them
