Dr Samantha Z. Tross, MBBS, FRCS, FRCS Ed, FRCS Ed (Tr&Orth)
Samantha Tross is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon practicing in London. The first black female to become a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK in 2005, as well as first woman in Europe to perform Mako Robotic Hip Surgery. Her special interests are minimally invasive hip surgery and hip pain in menopausal women. She prides herself on an excellent, evidence-based, holistic approach to patient care.
Miss Tross is passionate about increasing diversity in surgery and sits on various committees to achieve this. For her work she has received numerous awards including a Black British Business Award, the WINTRADE Award for Woman in the Public Sector, Pioneer Award for Black Women in Care as well as recipient of a special recognition award by Zenith Global Health.
She has been included in the Powerlist of 100 most Influential Black Britons since 2011, been profiled in many books and is currently one of the surgeons profiled in an exhibition in the Huntley Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
