PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is one of the most common hormonal endocrine disorders in women. It is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.

Some signs and symptoms that a woman may experience include: weight gain/obesity (yet there are women who have PCOS who may lean), multiple cysts on ovaries, high testosterone levels, which cause excessive hair growth, male pattern baldness and acne; this high level of testosterone can also prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg each month, causing anovulation and infertility; depression, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, can be added to this list. PCOS can lead to several medical risks including insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart disease. 5-10% of women of childbearing age are affected by PCOS, with less than 50% of women diagnosed. PCOS is responsible for 70% of infertility issues in women who have difficulty ovulating. Post menopausal women can also suffer from PCOS. Most common treatments for PCOS, offered by medical science, are medication, recommending weight loss and a low carb, low calorie diet, and, often times, partial or full hysterectomy. Unfortunately, none of these options offer a viable, permanent solution to dealing with PCOS. While a lot of women with PCOS might carry extra weight, some are lean. Some of those who could stand to lose a few pounds are not necessarily your lazy couch potatoes--many have a regular fitness regimen, and follow low carb, low calorie diets, yet, they fail not only in losing weight, but also in curing PCOS. Medications come with their own set of symptoms and side effects, and surgical solutions are permanent. They fail to address the underlying issue, and also sentence women to a lifetime dependence on medications and hormone supplementation, which comes with its own baggage and potential health risks. So, what can you do if you have PCOS? You can do what Candice did--eat your way out of it with a PCOS diet. Let me introduce to Candice, and allow her to tell you her own success story. Candice Brock is a 29 year old mom of 4. She was diagnosed with PCOS at a tender age of 28. Her doctor found a total of 33 cysts on both of her ovaries. She lived in pain. She suffered from constant fatigue, anemia, carried extra weight, despite her rigorous fitness regimen and a strict low carb diet, and was put on medication by a well meaning doctor. She was pre-diabetic. She also suffered from painful menstrual cycles, constant bloating, and the medication that was supposed to help her added a few more symptoms to this already exhaustingly long list. Fed up with lack of any progress, Candice searched high and low for solutions, and, in the beginning of this year stumbled on my (this) site. She wrote me an email. I recommended her a couple of my service options. She decided to get the DIY Body by Plants program, and the rest, as they say, is history. But exciting history at that. I heard from Candice 12 days after she started Body by Plants. She was over the moon! She was 9 lbs down, off medication, and PCOS symptom free! Yes, as in--no more painful cycles, full of energy, no more bloating, no more dieting (in fact, I told her that she could eat as many white potatoes as she wanted on my plan, and she did!), and she could finally keep up with her children. In fact, only two weeks into the program, Candice has enough energy to begin training for a 5K marathon! The best part--she realized that she no longer had to live in fear of getting worse or having to have a hysterectomy, like her grandmother and mother did. And she no longer fears that her 5 year old daughter will have to grow up facing same health issues as the three generations of women in her family before her. You know me--I get crazy happy hearing success stories,
