Right after an overeating incident or binge, once of the most helpful things to do is look back and consider what lessons we want to take from the experience. Maybe you discovered a situation you don't want to put yourself in again, or a choice you don't want to repeat. Or, perhaps your regrettable incident revealed a supportive routine, which when absent (like a good night's sleep) contributes to eating difficulty. So you chastise and remind yourself that you know better. But before long, you find yourself squarely seated in the same pool of regret, having been tripped up by the identical situation.
