This meditation is part of the "sitting with it" meditations. It takes you through noticing the world around you, paying attention to each of your senses one at a time to be sure to notice the transient, impermanent nature of things.
This reminds us that whatever we are going through at one time will too pass. That if we learn to sit with things as they are, noticing the changes and shifts, we feel less a victim of them than an observer, even if they bring up strong emotions.
Thank you for listening,
Dr. Colleen
